The daylight scenery isn't too shabby either. On our first full day during our stay at Quepos, we took a cab to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. From there you have to walk, hiking along trails through the jungle. At the end of one trail is an overlook of this cove. Yes, those are real Tarzan vines hanging down.
Here is an island off the point of Manuel Antonio. The waters off the coast are full of small, uninhabited islands. We quickly learned that in jungle, it's hot and steamy, but on the beach there is usually a nice breeze to keep you cool. Except for one trip in the mountains to see a volcano, we only needed shorts and t-shirts for clothing. A key tip if you like to travel light.
The beach at Manuel Antonio can get crowded and for just reasons too - the sand and surf are excellent! Here is a shot of a secluded beach where you can get away from the crowds. We found several such knooks along the shoreline.
