Hello folks...I need some help here
I’ll save you all the long story and bad words and just say I need your recommendations on the best stripper to remove layers of latex and poly waterbase clear from my just builT red oak kitchen cabinets. This is a massive kitchen and I really hit it out of the park on the build, but sprayed the wrong finish that reacted to the tannins in the oak. So other than making 40 doors and drawer fronts into firewood....I thought I might rescue my project with some proven stripper and plenty of sweat. After 30 years of woodworking one would think I knew better than spray White latex on red oak pieces. I’m looking for a real powerful effective stripper and not an ‘environmental safe’ product for weekend warriors...
Thanks for your help...Jim in Nashville, TN

I havent used these.

I just googled commercial paint stripper which is what you want.

Something that is used by the trades not the DIYer that you'd find in Blowes or HD

Thank you for the links on stripper products. I was wondering; have you used either of these products? And if so...which would you recommend for the best overall?

No I haven't. Id call the manufacturer and find out what sort of PPE youll need. and youll prolly need some denatured alcohol to clean it off with.

Last commerical stuff I used was when I lived in the UK and it stung the skin not to bad for me but for some it was pretty strong. So do a little research prior to using it.

Definately a reason they dont sell it at Home Depot :-D

Have you considered spraying with a sealer (Kilz or similar) and respraying instead? I know it adds a few more layers but it might be easier than stripping them all down. Chemical strippers tend to leave residue that leads to future problems too ...
