A few days ago a couple local guy's and one 5yo boy from my little town bagged a 12'6" gator on Columbus lake last week. Weighed over 600lbs. The lake is about 15 miles from me. We do have a lot of gators around here, but not many this big. Scan of the story:

Gene I don't know about this.
Something that big might turn the tables some night.

If he ever posts a video of hunting wild hogs with a knife I want to see it.

There's quite a few folks who do this. All kinds of video's on YouTube. Some with dogs, some without.

Don't know what kind of boat they were using, but probably a 12 ft jon boat or a small bass boat. Makes it even more interesting when the gator is bigger than your boat.

I did some hunting and trapping in my younger days.............nothing like that though............not sure my barlow would have been up o the task. Although I have read that a .22 cal has taken down every game animal on the planet.

I've heard the same, but you have to be real lucky, very close, and put that pill in exactly the right spot. I ain't that lucky, not that accurate, and I sure ain't gonna get close enough to big dangerous game to test it.
