I'm not even sure if it is Arabic?

Here are some pictures anyway.
My customer wanted an English naval carriage. He picked out the stain he wanted.

It is pretty cool.

I have a lot of pictures to post.
Here are the first of them.

Hey Zulu,

Very cool. It would be nice to know more about the gun. I hope that you'll continue to keep contact with the owner after the project is finished. That thing has a story to tell, for sure.

Cheers,
Tom

Tom,
The barrel is interesting.
The owner purchased it somewhere in Bangkok. It was represented to him as authentic.
He thinks it was made around 1800.

I have had a chance now to really get to know this barrel. It is not authentic.
It is nice but is a replica.
I have not told him yet. He mentioned to me that some day he might fire it.
It certainly has issues that would be dangerous to do so.
I will have to point these out to him.
I hate to tell him it's not real but it could save him from serious harm.

Here are some more pictures. He picked the color of the stain he wanted.

It's a shame he got ripped off on the barrel. Not uncommon in places like Thailand tho. Still a nice looking display piece.

All he had to do was shine a flashlight down the bore and he would have seen something terribly wrong.
The bore is 1 3/4" diameter for the first 8" or 9". Then it balloons open probably to 2 3/4".

It's a bomb to anyone trying to fire it.

Look at all the barrel pictures. You can see tan colored casting sand in a lot of the lines and all the small holes in the tiger's faces.

The vent hole is 5/16" diameter. Way, way to big!!! Enough blast would escape that hole to seriously maim someone stupid enough to be close to it.

It is a nice looking display piece though. An artist cast that barrel but it makes no sense to go through all that trouble and not clean the casting sand out of the crevices.
