LARY NORTON: Uncle Fester, good to see you post again! I know you check in but please post occasionally, your wit wisdom and knowledge are missed by many here. With the usual disclaimer about tryin this in an inconspicuous spot, I have found a product called "GOOF-OFF" to be very effective on adhesive residue. I usually dampen a paper towel with it and wrap or lay the towel on the glue goo. I wait for about a half cup of coffee and then wipe off. I follow the treatment with a rinse of water and /or soapy water and a dry with a soft rag. I get the product in either a big box or my grocery store in about an 8-16 oz plastic squeeze bottle. It does have a smell but I don't think it's offensive but if you have a lot of stuff to do, you might want to do it in a garage or a bigger open space.
