Finally got around to wrapping the lever on my 9422m. Save a little wear and tear on my fingers. Pretty easy to do. I used some 1/8" suede lacing I had laying around, which was kinda hard to pull thru. Slick leather would be a little easier I think, and be less likely to break.

Years ago Daisy made a replica of the rifleman's rifle in their BB gun line up. The one thing I remember about it the bb never traveled parallel with the ground as did his in the tv show. the BB usually was sent off at 10:00 12:00 7:00 5:00 6:18 never 3:00 :D

That's called "external ballistics". Very complex subject, but if you're interested in watching several days worth of videos instead of the Island Bikini Babes  : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... vDCIcEPxUn

Interesting, Gene. Perhaps I came across as more of a shooter than I really am. Not sure I'd profit from adding this to my '74, but I'll keep it in mind.

Truth be known, I've yet to put a round through it. Heard my neighbor shooting today so maybe I'll give him a call and go over. He's got a better location for shooting than I do. Too many kids around!

Hey Gene,
Years ago, before desktop computers, external ballistics were calculated on a chart of logarithmic scales. You could get a free chart of external ballistic scales from the Springfield, U.S. Armory. It took about four of five intersecting, and serial, projecting lines to calculate terminal energy. Nowadays, you can download an app. off of the internet, and calculate your drop, muzzle velocity, and terminal energy in seconds on your laptop or smart phone.
Some things have changed for the better.
Cheers,
Tom

I'll have to keep that in mind for if I ever get another lever gun. The last one I had was my Winchester 94 Trapper model in 30-30. I'd really love to get my hands on another one, but this time in .45LC. Rare as hens teeth these days.

I have done some paracord wraps on knives. I'll have to shoot some pics and post them.
