I have found that the simplist push blocks are also the best. The main advantage to the style I use is that they are easily "refreshed" and last for many many years. Just take an old hand saw handle (or cut a pattern from one) and glue a stip along the edge and a block to the strip as shown in the photo. They are made to be cut through on the table saw and once the short block gets to cut up to use just replace with a piece from the scrap barrel. When making toys I often go through two or three a day, yet at the end of the day I just reglue blocks and they are ready for the next day

Can't you just find some old handsaws and cut the handles off???  _________________ Sean
