1 - too small to be a framing hammer. Claw hammer with a steel shank through the handle.
2 - Face Mallet (i.e. not round), this style is typically made of beech [and too awkward and heavy to be of any use. Turn your own Razz ]
3 - Another Claw hammer but with a wooden handle. (the head is patterned after a specific older style but I don't recall the name; the Schwarz knows)
4 - Ball peen hammer. Machinists?
5 - Small cross peen hammer, typically referred to as a "Warrington".
6 - Larger cross peen hammer, also referred to as a "Warrington".

Sorry about my absence... You won't believe this, but I was ABDUCTED! It all happened one night when I was sitting in the living room watching some football when I saw a bright light outside my window coming from the direction of the ranch. When I got up to walk outside, I experienced this blinding pain in the back of my head and I passed out.

When I came to, I saw them. They were kind of small, covered in tin foil, and all they did was laugh. I could tell they were up to no good by the dirty bowls of ice cream laying about. The faint strains of Barry Manilow were off in the distance and I could smell the pungent odor of ...

Hey...

Those weasels knocked me out and tied me up, pretending to be aliens! Those Jerks!

Anyway, I was able to dust off my notes and here's what those smashing implements were:

1 - Steel Handled Claw Hammer
2 - Beach Mallet
3 - Wooden Handled Claw Hammer
4 - Ball-Peen Hammer
5 - Pin Hammer
6 - Cross-Peen (Warrington) Hammer

That means that Rapid Roger gets his choice of which of those little flea bag weasels he get to adopt at his house.... Mad

I'm not so sure I deserve to "Win-a-Weasel"!!!! Embarassed I think there were two or three other people to get a bit closer to the names of the hammers than me. So just to help you out a bit, Award a weasel to each entry. BSEG
Besides, I don't have enough ice cream or a sterio to play the records on to keep even one of your weasels happy. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Fair enough, Roger.

Oh, I'm going to have to call the Greyhound bus line and tell them to return the weasels that were headed to your house... Shocked
