Is up!
So, as woodworkers, do you build every stick of furniture in your home, or do you have no problem with buying furniture from a store?
Inquiring minds want to know..

If my wife would wait I'd build every piece. But the way time is, barely have enough time to make a cutting board. _________________ Jeff

If I built every piece, we would be sitting on the floor!

Well Tom a few years ago our place started to look like what the wife called a museum so I basicaly gave away lots of tables among other things.
Yep the toilet roll holder as well but the computer chair is about the one of the things we bought and couches.
If someone has time on their hands it can be both good therapy to do it yourself and you know that it will last as well.
Have Fun

I'd love to have the time to build furniture, but I just do not have the time. I have no problem with purchasing wood antique furniture and good wooden next-to-new furniture. I've never owned a "new" end table, but I sure have some beautiful antique ones!!! When I buy furniture, I am very selective and I will shop for weeks until I find a quality that I can live with at an affordable price.
My dresser is a beautiful antique from the early 1900's--so much more character than a new one would be. My desk is the just like the ones my teachers had in grade school--solid oak, and in great shape.
Now, as soon as I can get "roundtoit", I will build a new entertainment center........I refuse to purchase a glass or particle board one!!

I have no problem buying it although there are certain things that my wife asks me to make and the answer is always yes. Course it might require a new tool |

I'd go broke making all of the furniture... I can buy it so much cheaper than I can make it....sad really... though the quality is of course not nearly as good with purchased goods (in most cases... mine would probably be lower )
