Well I got a real face full of saw dust last night. I got my drum sander rebuilt and realized the one dust collector hose was plugged up. It ended up the whole dust collector duct was filled. My wood shop is upstairs and my metal working machinery is down stairs with the dust collector so that I pull the dust down. When i disconnected the duct it was full of fine saw dust which went every where. It left my lathe and mill covered with fine dust and I had to get the shop vac to clean it up, then I discovered the piece that holds the filter on the shop vac had fell off so the shop vac just blew the fine dust all over.So I had to fix the shop vac clean it out and redo the clean up. Today I finally got the molding made I started on a week and a half ago.

wow that certainly sucks. Good thing it was a easy. fix, took a little elbow grease but you got it done. Things can happen like that. I have a lot of festool which they tout their dust extrction as a selling point. but thats only good until things clog up. my plunge saw got a thin strip stuck in the dust port of the saw. Couldnt figure out why I wasnt getting good extraction until I took the cover off

I wish I had room for a dust collection system. No place to put one.

Zulu I have good results using a sixteen gallon shop vac as a dust collector for my lathe or shaper.
