My shop is set up with the metal working shop and garage downstairs, and the woodworking up stairs. I have a small wood burning stove up stairs and a larger stove downstairs. Usually I just use the upstairs stove , but with the temps down below zero I thought it would be a good idea to start a fire down stairs so the pipes did not freeze. When I opened the stove to put some wood in a bird flew out of the stove! It had come down the chimney with a fire in the upstairs stove burning! It flew upstairs where I am trying to finish a coffee table for the one daughter. The bird and cat keep chasing around knocking things off of shelves and kicking up dust that has settled in spots over the years. The cat has caught the bird three times that I saw and let it go each time.I don't know weather I am madder at the bird or the cat!

Re Birds: I wonder what the Road Runners normally eat all winter. Our pet one is coming around twice a day for his/it's handout of hamburger. It, and a mate have been around for several years. Raised three clutches two years ago and one this last summer. It
takes the bites right out of my hand.

Yep I believe almost any animal or bird can be somewhat trained with food and patiance. I have seen squirels, chipmonks ,deer, and wild ducks that would eat out of the right persons hand.
