I am so proud of you!. alcoholism killed my mother. I have lived 10 Years longer than her so far. I gave up hard liquor Oct 2016 then beer July 3rd 2017. You are a hero to all of us.

Thanks to all of you!! Especially happy for you, Mango. It started out as just being one 24 hours without drinking, was allowed to shiver and moan a lot...just no booze, then things started getting better....and it hasn't stopped getting better. Although I had made a 'good living' (wages wise), they told me I needed to go back to school....because now my job was to help folks....and I was very ignorant of how to do that. So I did....for ten years....worked full time in the field of recovery and went to San Diego State full time.... got a master degree...and have continued to 'help others'. There is no measure for the gladness in my life today. I just came back from the E R where I was asked to help do an intervention for a lady with 2 kids. She had attempted suicide because of alcoholism. She is okay TODAY and was smiling and hugging her kids and her Dad (my neighbor) when I saw them last. Such is my lot today....and no one has a heart so full as do I. And below is what I got to accomplish today!!
