Ahh, I just have to brag. Been wanting a Henry for years. Finally brought one home. .41 mag. Will go well with my NMBH in the same caliber.

First 5 shots, right out of the box. No cleaning or sight adjustments. Wanted to see what was what before messing with anything.

Ammo: Underwood 210gr XTP (this ammo is loaded to +P pressures)
Range: 25yds
Stance: Offhand, no artificial supports

Trigger: Very smooth, clean break, no takeup slack. About 4lbs (est).

Performance: One flier was me, not the gun. Cartridge primers were all hit dead center. No feed or chambering/extraction issues. Action was smooth and positive. Sight picture was easy to acquire even with my aging bifocal eyeballs. Recoil was pleasant, and felt like I could shoot it all day long with no problem. Overall the rifle felt very good.

Next time out will be at 50yds, then 100. I won't be cleaning it until after that, and then back out for some serious practice before Bambi shows up.

I reckon I'll keep it. :D

Nice group!

Henry Repeating Rifle. Isn't that the one that defeated Custer?

Don't know about that, but Henry patented the first model in 1860, and it was in use by the Union in 1862 during the war between the States. That first model was a .44 rimfire. They produce a copy of it now, except in .44-40 center fire - about $2900. Interested in buying one? :)

Anyway, this makes my 2nd lever gun. The other is a Winchester 9422magnum I bought in 1973, and still use quite often.
