Way to go Gene!
I do want to caution you though about firing it.
I know you have a lot of knowledge about guns.
I think all of your guns were made by reputable gun makers and carry respected brand names.
You have no idea who made the little cannon. It's hard to tell how big it is in the picture.
If it is a cast iron barrel, it has to have a steel liner in the bore to be safe.
If it is cast and has no liner, I strongly advise against shooting it.
What is the bore size?
To be safe a gun should have a breech diameter equal to three times the bore size.
So a .50" bore should have a 1.5" breech diameter.
What is the barrel made of?
Are there any maker marks on it.
Zulu who is worried about you.
No need to worry. Just fooling around.
Strictly decoration.
It's a little brass cannon that came from the gift shop. Paid 50 cents for it at the yard sale. Barrel is 2.5" long. Bore is 3/8", but is not drilled down to the touch hole. If I drilled it down to the touch hole I'd run into the pin that attaches it to the carriage. I may make a small diorama for it tho.
