I went on Friday and Saturday and scored a new Carter rear bearing for my 18" Jet bandsaw, some new card scrapers, an extra wall mount for my Plano clamps, some new bandsaw blades, and a new set of drill bits. Also, I sat through 6 different seminars including 4 on the Digital Wood Carver CNC machine. Man is that thing COOL !!! Gotta save my pennies, but I'll have to add one to my growing sign business, hopefully before the end of this year. Started reviewing the Aspire software that powers it, and so far I don't think the learning curve will be all that bad. It's very similar to Corel Draw, and I have a lot of experience with that. Gonna have to sell off a bunch of stuff that I haven't been using in recent years and put the proceeds toward that DWC......

All in all it was a great wood show. Turnout seemed to be heavier this year than the past two or three. Also, there seemed to be a much greater representation of wood turners and their suppliers than in years past. Could it be the dark side is winning ????

Peachtree Woodworking was well represented as usual. Their booth is by far the largest at the Atlanta show. Missing this year again was Sommerfeld's. I was hoping they would be back, because they usually had really good prices on their exquisite router bits and specialty tools.

It was a long drive each way (about an hour and forty-five minutes), but I think it was worth it this year.
