I was a regional home inprovement store. They have 4' x 8' x 1/4" high density polyethylene sheets under $60.
I often use it for fencing materal and glides.
I had never seen it for sail in large sheets

We used that stuff for lining grain spouting when I was in the sheet metal business. The more wear it gets, the slicker it gets. Almost like ice after a short time of grain sliding over it.
It does cut well with a shear or saw, and wears better than iron. It would make good guides for saw sleds or a shop table top in certain cases but, DON'T USE IT FOR FLORING or walk on it! You will fall on your keister faster than you can say OOPS!
I have a few small pieces of it laying around some place in the shop but, not enough to use for anything.
Maybe drawer slides or spacers/washers for moveable pieces or sliding pads for heavy things instead of wheels but, there would be no way to lock it down to keep it from moving.
