I can't figure out what's going on here. WW exchange is the only site this seems to happen on but I get these annoying popup ads all over the place. Along with little 'links' next to various key words in the form of a little circle with an arrow in the upper right quadrant. Now these dang ads are starting to appear in the body of messages, like this one, as I type. In the lower corner there's a note "Ad by websaver|close. I close the ad window only to have another appear somewhere else.

Along with an ad at the top/banner portion of the home page.

Using Firefox 33.1/Windows XP-64. There's nothing in the options/add-ons tools in Firefox that would indicate something running in the background. This is getting really frustrating.

Dang, I see after I submit my post there's a ##$! ... add embedded in it as well. Trust me ... I'm not doing this on purpose! (grin)

Second edit ...

Turning Javascript off seems to stifle the ads. Guess unless there's something else someone can suggest that's the only answer?

We do not have any companies to support us. pop ups are a symptom to your computer alone

No, I realize that, mango. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion to offer as to how to get rid of the annoyance.

I've downloaded and installed Malwarebytes anti malware software, and a couple other items that claim to block popup 'coupon' ads but nothing seems to have much of an effect. The only way to avoid them, on my pooter, is to disable javascript.

I would never suggest that this site engages in such practice.

Whew!

Finally sorted out this popup business. For anyone who may have this happen ...

So called 'Ad Services', they go by many names it appears, can, and do, hitch a ride when one downloads a program, typically something free but often as not these advertising viruses come along even with bonafide software. Anyway ...

The simplest way, that I found anyway, is to open the menu pane (in Firefox) by clicking on the little icon up in the upper right corner. It's the one with the three horizontal bars. At the bottom of the next pane, click on '?' (help) and opt to "Reset Firefox" which cleans out all the nasty extensions and add-ons that may be causing the trouble. Passwords, browsing history, all the good stuff you need are preserved, though.

Normally I'm very careful about what I opt for when downloading software but these guys are getting pretty crafty in their efforts to mislead that unsuspecting.
