I was posting my project "An Issue with the Tissue" when my phone rang. Our friend and fellow member Verna called to say she was driving through Kansas! 8)
I was very happy to hear from her (although a bit confused at first) and wanted to meet up in Salina. That is only an hour away for me and normally would have just jumped in the van and took off but, I have a previous lunch date today and just couldn't make it. :x
She is on her way west and wanted to make Colorado before dark which I understand fully. Dragging her "Teardrop trailer" and "Sunny day" as her companion off she goes again! :-D
You folks out west, be prepared!

MAYBE NEXT TIME VERNA!

Not quite, Dennis. Idaho after some camping and site seeing in Colorado and Utah. I'm trying to do more site seeing and less driving. It's a change from the way that Daddy showed us. If we drove by it, it was considered "seen". I want to stop and explore more.

I'll get up your way again....maybe in a couple of years on my way to Alaska....yes, driving and camping in the Teardrop!

Verna, be sure to stop in Fairmont if you come back the northern route.

Thanks, Jon. I came back the middle route. 1,700 miles in 3 days, and just couldn't drive the last 280 miles. Slept for 9 hours and I'm home for one night. I head east tomorrow for another week of camping. That will make it 31 days of camping in 4.5 weeks. I'm having too much fun!!

No, Roger, no one is chasing me. Two different groups of teardrop owners scheduled two different gatherings with only 5 days between them. One in Idaho, and one in Ohio. I'm home now.

Highlights: I finally rode the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Train, touched all four states in Four Corners, NM, took a tour of one of the ruins in Mesa Verde, CO, and I took a Class III White Water River Rafting ride....and what a ride it was :D Loved it.

And, then last night, just some 80 miles from home (after driving about 5,600 miles), some idiot missed his exit and pulled part way off the Interstate and then started backing up to his exit. Good Grief!!!! Scared me, with those backup lights on and the guy coming into my lane. I swerved to the left to miss him (yes, it was close), the teardrop camper tipped and was only on the left tire, I swerved back to the right to regain control, and the right tire slammed down onto the pavement. I did regain control, and my composure, kept driving, but I realized I had a flat tire. I pulled off the Interstate. The right tire on the teardrop had one heck of blow out. (Chance explained to me that when the tire hit the pavement that it probably broke it's bead, then split the sidewall with the blow out). Thank goodness for AAA with RV. The guy came out, put the spare on, and I changed to a less traveled road for the last 80 miles. I'll turn in an insurance claim tomorrow morning for a new tire, new wheel, new trim on the fiberglass fender, and possibly a new hub (where the wheel bearings are).

Yes, it was an interesting trip......and I'd do it again in a moment.
