My daughter Veronica is working on a beach safety study this summer. Graduated from University of Delaware this spring. Sorry if I seem like I'm bragging. I will say since she started I have been paying attention to beach injuries. 2 at least have drowned in NJ this summer that I know of. She is doing her study on the DL beaches.

Hey Ron,
Congratulations! She is definitely making the world a better, and safer, place.
"Never turn your back on the waves.", is something we say on the west coast as well, even though we have the slowly sloping beaches, rogue waves can catch you and pull you out in a flash.

Tom

Ditto on the Congratulations, Ron. People who raise good people certainly deserve a hearty pat on the back and it looks like you certainly qualify! PLEASE do brag.....so as to inspire others to nurture their children.
Interesting read on the beach injuries....I had no idea they were so prevalent.

Don

Thanks for the kind words!

One time when I was younger I went swimming in South Nags Head NC. There was nobody on the beach, my wife and kids were in our rental cottage. I got in rip current and darn near drowned. Crawled up onto the sand and couldn't even believe what just happened. I had swam in the ocean my whole life and that time I almost bought the farm. Be careful out there!
