After 2 years of job hunting and working for Lowe's as a PSA, (Push stuff around), I finally got a job back in the field of Drafting and Design. :-D :D :-D :D :-D :D

I accepted a position today with Cut-Apart Steel Art, a very small structural and artistic steel hand rails, spiral stair cases. I will be the Drafting Supervisor over 1 or maybe 2 draftsmen. The pay is only $2.50 more an hour, and there are not bennies, but at least it's back in my field, and I won't have to be at work by 0530 every morning.

Wish me luck.

I'm glad that you found a job that you enjoy and make a bit more money too. :-D I was a draftsman for several years myself.
In 1967, I started out with the city engineering office as a draftsman.
Then I designed signs for a local company for awhile.
Then I moved on to drawing structural columns and beams for buildings.
I then moved on to drawing and designing boilers for Superior Boiler Works.
After that, I got a job detailing spouting and elevator "boots and legs" until I finally got burned out pushing a pencil.
Then I moved into the shop where I got to use my ability reading blueprints to build the actual parts as a layout man.
That ended my drafting jobs in 1974.
