Just got my results for the three month checkup after completing the Proton therapy program for prostate cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Result is Protons 1, Cancer 0. Yea team! Current PSA test = 0.5. Started treatment with 7.4.

This WWA group is prime candidates for prostate cancer. 1 in 6 odds. With it in family history odds drop to 3:1.

If you are over 40, get PSA test annually without fail. PSA over 3, get biopsy. Caught early it's curable. Too late, it will kill you.

Anybody wants info on Protons, let me know.

Great news Jess!

Glad things are going well for you. Just keep on taking the PSA readings for awhile. Just to make sure.

Yes PSA testing is essential for early discovery and treatment. Remember if caught early the cure rate is 98% . Please note the statement is cure. This is one form of cancer that you can be cured not just put it in remission.

A few of us draw the other 2%. Mine showed up again after 4.5 years.

Great news Jess.

I just might add to that, that one over 50 needs to have a colonoscopy as well. Got mine yesterday. I have a good friend who had cancer detected and caught it early. He now has a colon a few inches shorter but he's alive and well.

Gettin old can be deadly....

My psa count went from 7.2 down to .5. How ? 1. a healing service at our church.2. a lot of prayers 3.diet high in vitamni E & C 3. Multiple vitamin with selinium. Prostrate cancer is one of those things that fall into the catagory of " What you don't know, can kill you!"

I found out Friday that my dad now has prostate cancer. At first, I was shaken, but the more I read, the more hopeful I have become.

Congrats - keep it going! I agree and encourage a PSA test every year - mine is .76 for 5 years running. Get it checked and get your colonoscopy too!
