My mom was taken to the hospital last night with chest pains...

The doc is saying that everything is OK, and she's due to be released today.

Wow.

Not to scare you, but what did they say the chest pains were from???
Did they do any tests???
Is she scheduled for a stress test???
I am sure that you have asked questions, but asking more doesn't hurt.
Chest pains can be harmless "gas", back out of whack, gallbladder, and numerous things besides heart, but question them.

Hope everything is ok. Like Vicki said you can never ask to many questions. Chest pains are related to so many different things.

I'm with the rest. If it was bad enough to go to the hospital, then there is something going on. No sure I'd just accept a "she's OK and can go home now."

Best wishes and let us know how it goes.

More info -

The docs ran the full battery on her... EKG, Electrocardiogram, blood work.. the works. The believe that she was reacting to her new arthritis meds...

They do have a stress test scheduled for early next week. She's due to be discharged later today...

This is when I wish she was at her home here in Florida instead of back up in Jersey...

Tom, best wishes for you and your Mom. Sending some of those positive thoughts, too, OK?

Glad your mom is ok, my dad went through about the same thing a couple of weeks ago, he had shortness of breath and the doctor found out it was the meds, they removed him from most of them and no problems now, they found some blockage but they don't feel that he needs surgery.

Man I'm so glad she is doing better and that they know why there were complications-- that has to make you breathe a little easier (though not too much I'm sure)
