Nobody here knows my dear friend Mark Straight. He's a fellow I met through the Northwest Washington Woodturner's club here in Mt Vernon WA. But his passing is one I just feel like mentioning.

We lost Mark on the 27th of Nov. Two weeks prior his wife took him to the hospital complaining of abdominal pain. First diagnosis was gall bladder. Subsequent diagnosis was an extremely aggressive form of liver cancer.

Two weeks!

We have precious little time here on planet earth. Savor every minute of every day.

Dennis, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I, too, lost a very dear friend in March, and it still hurts and I miss him terribly. My prayers go out to you and his family.

Well said Dennis,

It is something that we should all be grateful for, each day that is.

Hope his family and friends are doing okay.

Dennis,

I am also one who is sorry for your loss. I will put his family and friends on my prayer list. May the pain of his passing be reduced quickly. I know the pain will never go away.

Dennis you're absolutely right, and I'm very sorry to hear that you lost such a special friend. But you pass along a good reminder that we need to let people we love KNOW that we love them while it is today.

Dennis thanks for sharing your pain with us, we are all family.
We just never know from minute to minute what is in store for us, I guess better that way.
We will keep you and your friends family in our prayers.

Vicki and Duane

Dennis, I'm really sorry about your friend--cancer is not a nice disease.

I do agree that we must savor each and every moment we have here.

Thanks for the message, take care, and prayers are sent to you, your family, and to Mark's family.

Verna

Thanks, Dennis, I needed that. I lost a lung to cancer almost 2 years ago and everyone who knows me says I'm a different person now ..... the biggest difference is that I now APPRECIATE every moment. I woke up in that recovery room (intensive care) and was gasping for air like a fish on the deck of a boat. BTW ... I quit fishing for just that reason. They told me I would be on oxygen for the rest of my life .... I weened myself in less than a month ... started climbing stairs daily and pushing myself to the limit. Today I am stronger and healthier than I have been in years ... simply because I KNOW what you are saying ... any moment could be my last.
I'm truly sorry for your loss.
Don
