Duane donated the meat to a program that they run in several states where the locker will do the meat for the needy. The guy at the locker asked him if he would care if he gave it to a young couple he knew with some kids, I guess the guy had lost his job and they were having a hard time. We were glad it went to someone who really needed it. We have some in the freezer from last year, so we really didn't need it.

Great buck. And donated to a great cause. Especially a bow shot deer, no worries for children about lead problems. Again great deer.

Great buck Duane, being a bow hunter myself and never getting a shot at one like that I am green with envy.

Great buck and a great thing to do with the meat, when I used to goose hunt we always donated the birds to the local meat lockers and share your game program.

Once again congrats.

Allen

Venison properly field dressed and correctly prepared for freezer is truly a kingly gift and a luxury not appreciated by many who have not had it properly taken care of before it got to the table.

And it went to a needy couple with kids. Your Beau is a man worthy of great respect. It would be a high honor to go on a hunt with him one of these years.

My childbride was born and raised around preparing game for the table and venison was a yearly highpoint (and still is in this house). She most certainly knows how to cut up steaks and broilers and straps and oh my gosh I'm getting hungry just talking about it.

Her dad would send one of our sons into the house carrying a fresh leg haunch and plop it down on the table for Theresa to start cutting up some of the finest steaks in Michigan.

A high salute to your husband. I'd love to meet him some day.

Oops, sorry... for a second there the liberal in me just sortof spilled out....

Seriously though,
Man that's an awfully nice buck, I'm sure the family will appreciate the meat (I love venison sausage)..with a rack like that I don't count points, I count how many pens/stoppers I could make... (looks like at least 8 to me...)
Nice job... and with a bow to boot!
Lawrence

WOW!

I am just amazed beyond belief how tame the buck is; to allow Duane to pose with him like that, and too not be startled by the flash! Man slap me on the forehead.
