Hey Tom,

I watched, but I was more interested in that little present from the Jet Stream that's hitting the Pacific Northwest right about now. When the Jet Stream moves south for the winter, the fire hose is pointed at us for about a week, until it settles over Northern California.

Hey Mango,

We had a howler on Thursday night, complete with lightning strikes and falling trees. So far as I know, there was only one death in the city due to falling debris. The rain has stopped for now, and the wind has moderated too.

The earthen dam that holds back the Green River, south of town, was recently reinforced with injections of concrete and mortar, to reduce the chance of a catastrophic flood by about 6 times (according to the Army Corps of Engineers).

I haven't heard from Jamie since the blow, but I also haven't heard of any problems on Bainbridge Island.
