What if anything do you as members know of any dangers concerned with Drywall produced in China?

A curious mind needs to know.

No personal experience, but many reports of headaches and other health issues from the gases put out by Chinese drywall.

Yes, and reports of strange desires to tape and texture 10 minutes after you did it the first time. Weird!!!!

I have read that some houses could not be lived in because of gasses comming out of the sheet rock used in the new houses down south after the big blow.
No experiance, and I dont know what is causing the gass-off other than maybe the glue used to put the paper on the surface.

Rog

PS. If a house settles and the Chinese sheet rock fails, would that be called "Bad Crack" or a "bad crack up"??

It's been a big problem south of here. There is something in the sheet rock that outgasses and causes lot of problems. One of the main issues is that it seems to attack the copper coils in A/C units. People are having to replace them after 2 years. Also lots of health problems. One of our senators is trying to get some legislation passed to do something about it.

Like many other items made in China there are significat health and safety issues. It may cost more to get items made in the USA but our health and safety laws that raise costs also give us safer products!
