We all went to the State Fair this morning (10:30 AM- 1:30 PM) and I'm tired of walking!
I only went to see how my entrys scored......not too good but, not bad...
What I thought was my best chance for a ribbon didn't do well.

See "Octagon Oak Table" was a dud"
This is the reason......a gun case TO DIE FOR!!!!

See "First place/best of show"
The "Wooden Watch" which was entered as an after thought should have stayed just a thought.

See "Wooden Watch was an also-ran"
But, the "Plywood Vase" brought home the bacon.....Well, a second place ribbon anyway.

See "Plywood scrollsaw vase took a 2nd"
This is some of the compition for the table. The tall nightstand

took a second to the gun case.

Oh well, there is always NEXT YEAR!

At least I got a second place ribbon insted of another third like the last two years, so I must be improving.

PS. Just a few notes about the Gun cabnet....It was about 7' tall, a corner cabnet with more glass in it than my house has, was made of cherry (I think) and beautiful workmanship. It holds 12 guns (rifles or shotguns) on a 'lazy susan' base and had lights inside and deserved the awards for sure. I do kind of wonder if the builder isn't a pro or at least very experianced (like years and years) wood worker.
