sharpening even careless sawing or routing have the potential to cause a disaster in your shop. A random spark or a finish moist rag if not handled properly can be the origin of a fire. Prevention is the best solution but if you do have a fire in your shop or for that matter anyplace your first defense can be a good extinguisher. Keep one handy, charged, up to date with maintainence and keyed to the fire types likely in your location.

Fire, either in my shop or, more importantly, in my home, is my biggest fear. The one thing I take most precaution to prevent.
