That may be your reaction to this topic but you really need to think about it. Using a hand saw is a basic foundational skill in working wood. As an artisanal craftsman a finish carpenter a framer or a high end custom furniture maker, there are and always will be times when there is no pigtail. Maybe a cut is too small to bring out the circular saw, the workpiece is too small to apply power or a cut too delicate to chance a power tool or you just can't get to the power saw. Go back to the basics, remember the lessons learned the hard way, appreciate the wisdom of your mentor, and then practice, practice, practice. You keep your tools sharp and clean do the same for your skills.
