Hey Newtooth,

A few years ago, Kris and I stumbled upon the Christopher Clarke shop in the Cotswolds of England. The shop is now run by his two sons. They have a remarkable collection of amazing pieces for sale. You could spend and entire day in their small store front, just examining the ingenious inventions that pass as furniture.

One interesting note: Not all "Campaign Furniture" was used in military campaigning. Back in the day, if you booked a passage to India or other ends of "the empire", all you got was a stateroom on the ship. Furnishings were up to you. So many "campaign" items were really meant for civilian use. Often, furnishings were sold at the wharf to other travelers returning in the same ship.

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks so Much for that link, Joe! I love that campaign furniture. Hey Tom....didn't you make one of those tripods tools with Chris Swarze a few years back?

Hey Don,

Yes, I did! It was a side project during a class in making the Rhoorkee chair.

I ended up giving it to my best friend, as a gift.

Cheers,
Tom
