Which would you cut first, pins or tails and why? I don't think there is a really correct answer but there seems to be a traditional choice.

PS: what is a woodworking feather and how is it used?

I do tails first, but that's because I was taught that way.

"Feather" as in feather board?

Feathers are used for "marbling" a faux finish.
