Ahh this is an interesting one( for me anyway)

When I first came out to Australia everyone would tell me about this lumber called oregon. I had never heard of it, it appeared to be a conifer, but nothing like the spruces and hemlocks t hat I had built barns with in Vermont.

Your task, tell me what the heck they were talking about....
Probably really easy, but it had me confused for a year or two.

Eric

I think it is pine, but I'm not sure what type you call it. what ever is most plentiful in the state of Oregon.

Why I called Jeff, Doug I will never know. Sorry about that old boy!

It almost reminds me of an old groucho marx line.
I think it went like this "Last night I shot an elephant in my pajamas,,, how he got in my pajamas, I will never know........

In other news I think I have some banksia nuts sourced, but not sure yet!

Hey Eric,

In parts of Europe, they call it Oregon Pine, which is odd because it's not really a pine. Interestingly, it's not a true fir either, but it is the state tree of Oregon.
