I just finished an 1830's Texas Navy display for the Freeport Historical Museum. It is almost exactly like the display I did several years ago on board the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington in Corpus Christi except this one only has one cannon.
The cannon is one of my concrete cannons.
Here are some pictures of the display. A table is being custom made by others to support all of the different types of cannon shot that I make out of lead.

Thanks Don,
It's good to see that at least one person is still looking at this forum.

Pretty dead around here.
It really was great a few years back. I guess Instagram has taken over.
I have no intention of posting stuff there.

I still read the site but haven't been doing much wood work for quite a while. I did just make a "box" for teacher at the school my wife works at. I guess I could post a pix or two of it. It's nothing spectacular. :-)

Nice work Zulu. I still come here but not as often, posts have really tapered down, very sad.

I would post more often , but still am having problems with the eyes. I got a new eye exam and perscrpition today and hope to have glasses that work in two weeks. I can not understand why the doctor that removed my cataracks could not fit me with progressive trifocals like I had before the surgery . The bifocals he fit me for simple will not focus between two and four feet which is where almost all of my work and reading is done. When he did fit me for them his chart said I had 20/40 vision which is as good as I could get. The eye doctor today had me reading 20/20 on his exam machine. So I have hopes I will be back in business again. There is a reason why the schools for the blind do not teach woodworking or tool and die making!

Outstanding as usual, Zulu! I love your work!

As far as I'm concerned, this is still THE BEST woodworking forum on the internet! Everyone, please take a moment to post something!

Thanks Larry but I think there is less than 10 of us left.
On the other hand, someone is looking at this forum.
My Alamo build thread currently has 58,513 views. Might be a record. That has risen over 500 views in the last 6 weeks. Someone is out there looking.

Interesting thought. Is there some way the site software can "report" the number of "members" that have logged in over some period of time?? I know I check the contents of this and one other section mostly every day. I just haven't been doing any wood (or for that matter metal) things.

I hope to post more as soon as I can get back to making things. I have a real backlog of things I would like to do now that I can walk again and hope to see well again. The other forum I am on "The Traditional Muzzle Loading Message Board" is also way down on people posting. Maybe it is just the weather and people are getting outside more. I know in my area people are cutting up down trees and repairing storm damage. Our storm left people with out power for ten days, some of the small towns did not have full power for five days, and many county roads were shut for five days.I still have several trees down on my one pasture fence, one uprooted tree actually pulled the fence post out of the ground. I am down to one pony for the grandkids and can put him in the other pasture until I can get some one to fix the fence and cut up the trees. I am able to walk now, but cutting up trees and fixing fence is still a ways off.

I like the screen where you see opposing cannon fire.
