Looking for a recommendation on supplier for turned table legs?

I recently ordered a set from Osborne (3 1/2" stock) in cherry and was really disappointed to to see that the stock was 4 board laminate. I wouldn't mind if I were to paint them, but then I wouldn't have paid a premium for cherry. The turnings were ok, but I could have done without the seams.

Maybe I just need to get a lathe...

I'd have to see the profile to make a comment.

PASIV: what will your desired final finish be? If it will be a stain and film over, then you might consider a shellac wash coat on the legs with a buff out then a gel stain to even out the differences in the grain appearance of the laminated legs.

I am keeping it "natural" cherry using a wipe-on-varnish (maloofish) formula. After the first coat, some are OK, but others are still an eye sore.

I have to position the legs to minimize the exposure of my "tiger cherry" legs.

A light stain might be a good approach in this case.
