I made a top for a mini dresser/jewelry box out of a unique piece of white oak with a big knot and some nice surrounding figure. Unfortunately there are a few small bug holes and I can't tell if their is any active infestations. SOOOOOOOOOO after a little reading I am heating it in my oven which I read about on the web. I read if heated to 130 degrees for 45 minutes any live insects would be killed. My one concern is the lowest temperature on my newer oven is 170 degrees. My other concern is I have 2 coats of waterlox on it. Going to "bake" it for 1 hour and hopefully do no damage except to any possible insect life. Will report back soon or call the fire department if needed.
