Anyone here ever use the heated mineral oil and beeswax method of finishing cutting boards?

Thinking about trying it on a new board.

Thanks, ron

I've used it on a couple of cutting boards in the past year or so and have been happy with the results.

Hey Ron,

I use a product called Butcher Block finish which is basically just that. It works great. I leave new cutting boards in a pool of the stuff overnight, then turn it over for a second night, before wiping off the excess.

Cheers,
Tom

I use straight mineral oil out of the bottle. Never bothered heating it. Like Tom says, the key is total saturation. Only I use several applications over several days.
