At church several of the doors are some what battered. I have given the mission to repair them, they range from fairly red to brown, the damage from scratches to fairly large chips.

I plan on using using Bombay mahogany poly-shades which is a fairly close match to the red but will need to do some tinting and some of the others will have to be done from scratch. I know that you can use oil colours to achieve matches for most wood tones what are the colours needed (burnt umber...)?

What would best to fill the fairly large chunks on or near the the edges Bondo, water putty?
