I order 30 bd ft of 8/4 red oak, 9 bd ft of 5/4 red oak, and 8 bf ft of 4/4 red oak, from Hardwoods of Alabama the truck is coming Friday morning. I am so excited I spend a total of $130.98. This is my most complex project yet I hope it comes out good.

Sounds like a great project, and in the case of a Morris chair, I can't think of a better material than Red Oak. It really gives the chair a classic look. Are you doing the cushions too? What color/material for them?

Can't wait to see your progress on this one. 8)

Nothing like a Mother/Son project. I'll bet you'll both have a lot of fun with it.

Yep, Morris chairs are beautiful and on my list of things I'd love to build. Take your time and it'll turn out great and last a couple lifetimes!

That's a great project. I've done some craftsman stuff and I really like it but I predict you will be tired of spindles when you're done. You and your Mom should have a great time.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the pics of progress. Sounds like you and you're mom are going to be very busy for awhile.
