... time to ask what you are working on this weekend.

I'm working on the kitchen again this weekend (still) trying to get around to the crown molding and final trim. If I don't get waylaid by trying to tile the backsplash, I should be able to make some good progress on it starting tonight.

Well, it's been a hectic couple of weeks lately, but hopefully, I'm nearing a sweet spot.

About 2 weeks ago, my computer died. It started out as a "hijacking" virus that corrupted all Google searches and then went on to completely taking over every operation you could want to do. I couldn't open e-mail, any browser windows, or even a word document without this popup taking me to an offshore (off the wall) site that wanted me to buy their "anti-virus" software.

So I've been checking in with my wife's very slow laptop, but not posting much.

Then, shortly thereafter, I started having chest pains. More like a tightening of the chest and aching of the lower parts of my arms. It would only last 15 seconds or so, but I knew that I needed to get things checked out.

Several doctor's visits, blood tests, urine tests, and a nuclear stress test later, I went in the hospital on Tuesday of this week for angioplasty. They found one artery 99% blocked and installed a stint. An overnight stay and I'm back home on Wednesday for some sleep.

Major lifestyle changes in store for this 55 year old. Diet, exercise, meds...And the worst part, no cold beer's for the foreseeable future... :( :( :(

Last Saturday, before all of this med stuff happened, I finished building a 30' long shed roof down the outside of my shop that will house my cyclone DC and a air compressor in a couple of separate insulated closets with lots of additional covered storage for lumber, yard tools, log splitter, etc.. (Pics soon)....

Although I've got to take it very easy right now (no weight lifting over 5 lbs), I do plan to go out and work on my miter saw station this afternoon. Got some little trim pieces to cut, stain, and poly.....

Sorry for the long answer, but I wanted to catch ya'll up on what's been happening here in NE Georgia.

Thank God for modern medicine !!!!

Finishing the chest. Put the last coat on this morning, and cut the back boards. Waiting on hardware from LV. The next pic you see, it will be in the bedroom. :-D

Skyrider...that is such great news!!! And, bravo for you for not waiting too long.

Do watch those weight restrictions, though. You'd be amazed at how much lifting you do with your chest muscles, and you do have some healing to do.

Thanks for sharing with us

The last of my replacement windows are in.

I guess that means I know what I'll be doing this weekend and next...

Well... as much as we hate to leave the cool of San Diego and our new friends that we've made here, we're going to head back to Tucson on Saturday morning. We've had an amazing time here, but there is still work to be done on the kitchen before I head back to work in a week. First up is sealing the tile/grout, then making drawers, then putting the last knobs on the doors and tightening up the others. I have to tidy up the wiring for one of the under cabinet lighting units, and then Karen wants to look at stripping/refinishing the kitchen table/chairs to make them fit in a little better.

So glad they found things quickly and took care of them skyrider- make sure to listen to the docs!

Putting the finish on my rocking chair at last!!!! Pictures to follow soon.
Then, think I'll get back on the scrollsaw for the summer.....Unless something real cool enters my brain.....NO!!! NOT ANOTHER ROCKING CHAIR!!! A one year project is enough for me right now!

OK.... after messing up last weekend's memory box for my nephew's graduation...

I have got to build a CD rack for a friend at work... this one's been promised for a few months now.

I have to get started on an end-grain cutting board for a few friends who have been asking - for a few months now.

I have to finish up a drawing for a special project for PK... (Details will come)

And I have to nudge a guy at work who wants a desk built out of QSWO...

Other than that... eh... shouldn't be too bad!

Finish the top for a planer stand. Case is done but not trimmed. Make a slab base for a friend's sculpture and paint it.

Been tinkering with the Cherry bed I should have completed by now. Back at it and hopefully get the wood planned for the headboard and the system worked out to mount it between the posts. I have 4 days left on my 5 day break, so..... hopefully something will get done. High humidity and temps this weekend.

The wedding is tomorrow, then it's back to the bedroom set. Monday night, we have to take our stuff to be judged for an upcoming juried craft show.

Well, no woodworking for me this weekend, plans have changed. All of these severe thunderstorms means OT for me, not a lot of sleep.

Hummmm, maybe I can finally buy that planer that I need

Well today I cut 56 blanks for the wing ribs, tomorrow I will start bending the blanks for the ribs. I hope to have the top wing framed in about 3-4 weeks. :D
Off I go into the wild blue yonder :D :D

I'm using tools they are automotive though.

Simple turned into complex.

Driver window made horrible etching sounds on the way down so I stopped it.

The window has be hesitant for about a year no real need except at the drive up window :D

took off the side panel to find the window was out of its track  the track was 70% rotted.

applied rust stopper went for a new window motor, the old one it was shot. Instructions warned of a gear that needed to be secured had no idea what it was talking about. recommend drilling holes and placing screws in said hole skipped that part.

Learned what they meant by not doing, this could cause an injury. My bottom knuckle on my left middle finger is missing some top soil. the spring sent the rack sailing to the closed position.

I wish it had worked that easily in the past 12 Months...
