200+ bf of cherry 50/50 select and #2/3 got it cheap $2 for select and $1 for the #2/3. about 100 bf of panga panga (looks like Wenge) a deal, beautiful black walnut (realty dark) thanks Scottman, about 100 bf of tiger maple (a deal), a large pile of 3x4 wt oak from skids for a work bench, another 100 or so assorted domestic hard woods, and a fair quantity of imported woods a bunch that was free and unidentified. Does hard wood ply count?
The cherry is for 2 sets of kitchen cabinets when I get ambitious.
Most of the wood was either a deal I could not pass up, some a unique opportunity, others left overs or jobs that did not happen.

Do not tell my wife how much I have.

I DO NOT HAVE A HORDING PROBLEM I just need a more storage space.

I can understand wood hoarding/collecting as much as the next guy. And I've been known to have a good sized stash of this or that when a special opportunity comes along that requires buying a bunch at a time (like 400 bd ft of highly figured hard maple or the 1000+ bd ft of Port Orford Cedar I'm working through.) But I really don't understand the point of 5000 bd ft. Is it for sale? Is it the result of cutting down trees in the back 40? I need some help here.

My total stash is probably about 2000 bd ft at the moment, unless like Gene we decide to count the standing timber. Then it's a heck of a lot more, but all ponderosa pine - about 150 acres worth.

A lot of it is coming up with good deals on downed trees with the majority of it being from a huge cherry tree that a woman wanted taken down. Told her I couldn't cut it down because it was way too big for my chainsaw and talent, but that I would take the logs away if she got it cut down. The rest has come from good deals at auction and other sources.

It is for sale if somebody wanted some, but I'm not actively marketing it. I probably don't have more than about $1,500 in all of it combined.

Well where do I start. I've got goobs of Maple, and Red Oak, a good bit of Walnut, and a little Cherry. One stick of Bubinga, a couple sticks of Chechan, some Limbali, Lignum Vitea, Cocobola, Teak, Purple Heart, Red Heart, Pink Ivory, Olive, and a bunch of other stuff. I have no idea on quantities, but most are just a few pieces, lots of turning stock.
