I built and donated this bench to the home where my cousin lived for most of his life. It is made of cedar with a couple of coats of water sealer put on it

Nice job! :-D I really like it. Looks like it is alot bigger and better built than the one I built a year or so ago.
Mine was built for a customer and designed on the fly. Yours looks like ceder, mine was furr and I used 100 screws in it.

That's an inviting bench. I think what's important about outside furniture is that it presents a message of sturdiness, a challenge to the elements. Your bench really looks 'at home' outdoors. If I were to criticise anything it would be that it's longer than I would use in an outdoor seating arrangement for social gatherings. But since I don't know the use specs for your bench, that's not really a fair critique.

I like the bench. It looks very sturdy, one that you don't mind sitting on it with 2 or 3 other people. A good place to gather to talk, to think, and to make some new memories.

I'm sure your cousin is smiling at you for the great deed you did.

B HEGER: A question of curiosity. Did you plow the groove for the back splats in the top and bottom back rails and then fill between, or did you form individual mortices?

A very very nice work product. I have the sense from your caption that the bench is in memory of your cousin. I hope that the medallion on the table is a dedication from you to the memories
