I've been building simple awards plaques for about 4 years, but this year I thought I would try something a little different. These plaques are handcut veneers laminated to a contrasting substrate core material with epoxy for the glue. They were routed with a cnc machine that I hired done.

This one is lacewood veneer over a walnut substrate, with a black walnut frame made with a multi profile bit.

The outstand service award is also lacewood veneer over walnut. But with a black walnut stand with curly maple trim.

The "George" awards are india rosewood veneers over a maple core. These will go to the best in show winner of our intra guild show. A brass plate with the winners name and name of the piece will be fastened to the bottom.

The presidents plaques will have a fancy stand that is still just a thought, and will go to our past presidents for their total dedication to the guild.

So I haven't posted much lately, these plaques got me back into the shop, I also have other projects in the works. I hope to visit more often!!

Great idea using the veneers Len. Those look just stunning and really appropriate for WWing awards. Great work and always great hearing from you.
