Just finished last years Christmas presents  It is a table for my Son's girlfriend. She is going to use it for her stereo I guess. I made it to their specs. Matches an end table she has. Thanks for looking!

That's a beautiful piece.

With the time and effort you put into it I hope hope they're serious. :D :D

Great work and a great style too. Love the look and I'm sure it'll hold up for generations. 8) 8)

If she had her way, they would be married now. My son is not as enthusiastic. He gets it from all sides though. Mom asks him, his friends ask him, his co-workers leave jewelry store brochures on his tool box.:-D They have been going out for 3 years  I am expecting an announcement this year but who knows. Not sure what the kid is scared of but I try to stay out of it.

When they gave me the dimensions (which had to be adhered to for her stereo to fit) for the table and as I was trying to visualize it, it seemed like it was going to look kind of out of proportion. So I whipped up a plan on sketchup.

IMHO This is one of the main advantages of drawing a scale model of a project. It helps me to get a better feel as to how it will look in the end.

Very nice job ! I hope he marries her so it will stay in your family.

Too bad she doesn't know enuff about woodworking to know that a great job you did on that. Most people don't !! The just see junk in all the stores, and they are not able to appreciate the skill that g oes into all phases of a project like this !!

But your friends on this board will surely appreciate it in all aspects !!

It looks great, and if they do get married and have a little one they can take the stereo off and use it as an awesome changing table. Looks better than the ones they sell for way too much money and is built way better than any changing table sold at a store. Not to put anymore pressure on him or anything ;-) mp wall

Great job. I think the proportions are great - well balanced all around with nice detailing.
