Hey all,

Sorry it's been a while....I have been busy.

My Woodturning club The Cape Cod Woodturners, held a show and sale all of last week at a really nice library in Brewster, Ma.
The library has a large side room that frequently holds art shows and presentations.

We hold this particular show every year usually the 3rd week in August.

I'm guessing about 8 turners had about 500+ pieces in the show.
All of them were for sale. We filled about 15 banquet sized tables with beautiful work.
The club encourages all members to participate.

Most years we manage to sell about $1500 worth of stuff.
We did $1700 a few years ago when the economy was firing well.

This year we did almost $3200 in sales. It was by far our best year ever.
Perhaps the economic situation is getting better.
Or people are sick of not having new excellent art work (my opinion :-) ) and just are saying "what the heck...."

On the final day I set up a mini lathe outside and turn small items for the kids.
Tops, small bowls, wands, and whatever they want.
We give these items out to the kids to make them smile.
Well worth my time.

A fellow club member and I spent from 10 AM until 4PM standing in the sun over a lathe making smiles.
It was a great day.

When all was said and done I didn't sell any of my 30 or so pieces.
But I did manage to hand out a bunch of business cards for future work.

Today I rest....my back is still sore. :-)
