I just opened a flyer from Hartville Tool and found a holiday special that'll be hard to pass by: Purchase a Talon or Stronghold chuck by Oneway, and get 4 Raffan DVD's for free. Thought others might want to know, especially if, like me, you're pretty new to turning and don't have a resident expert to watch and learn from. :D

I guess it's lucky I don't have any chuck yet, right? I don't have the $$ either, but the deals are supposedly good into January (to the end, IIRC), so I should be able to get there by then.

The horse business has been rocky for a couple months now, horses lame or otherwise out of commision. :( Rode yesterday, the first time in 3 weeks.

I've been thinking about buying a second chuck so I could switch from regular jaws to Cole jaws faster, but I'm affraid that these are a bit too expensive for my tasts. At $259, that's $60 more than I paid for my lathe.

Here's the link though, if you have the budget.

I'll get the Talon, at "only" $204 -- don't need the mega-strength of the Stronghold. :D

I've been looking for a chuck for over a year. This was one deal that I couldn't pass up.

Happy Turning!

Enjoy, Joe! I'm going to pull the trigger soon. Took a look at the SuperNova2 since it was on sale at Woodcraft, and although it's a quality chuck, I can resist the Talon deal either!
